Joe Richard "Rich" Rodriguez was born on December 1, 1964 at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Jose "Joe" and Luisa Rodriguez.

He moved with his mother and grandparents to Poteet, Texas from 1965 to 1966 while his father was deployed to the Philippines. His brother Michael was born while his father was overseas.

​

From 1967 0 1969, the small family lived in Shertz, Texas while his father was stationed at Randolph Air Force Base.

​

From 1969 - 1970, while his father was in Vietnam, he lived with his mother and brother in Pleasanton, Texas.

​

In 1970, the family moved to Chandler, Arizona and eventually to Williams Air Force Base, where his brother John was born. The family lived there until 1974.

​

In 1974, the family moved back to Randolph Air Force Base. Rich's sister Kathryn was born in 1976.

​

From 1977, the family lived in Gemunden, Germany. Rich's twin sisters Kristina and Victoria were born that year. In 1978, the family was moved to Hahn Air Force Base, where they until 1980.

​

From 1980 to 1982, the family was stationed at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Rich graduated from Alamogordo High School in 1982.

​

From 1982 -1985, the family lived in Taif, Saudi Arabia on the Northrop Compound.  While there, Rich was trained as an inspector apprentice with the Corp of Engineers.  

​

Rich and his brother Mike moved back to San Antonio, Texas in 1984. From 1984 to 1988, Rich was employed with the City of San Antonio as an Construction Inspector. While living there, he met and fell in love with Susie Hernandez.

​

In 1988, Rich and Susie moved to Sacramento, California, where his family were stationed at McClellan Air Force Base.  They were married later that year and eventually settled in Pine Grove, California.

​

Their eldest son Christopher John was born in 1989. Brandon Jesse  followed in 1992. Sierra Rhiann was born in 1995 and Marisol Anya in 2001.
