Rich was my oldest son. He was born on a military base and lived on numerous bases in the U.S. and Europe growing up. He could identify any military airplane flying overhead and was as patriotic as they come. While at Holloman AND in N.M. He was proud of talking about taxiing our Aero Club aircraft amongst F-15's when he and his brother Mike worked and took the Cessnas to the wash rack. He lived in Europe for 3 and one half years and also in Saudi Arabia for 3 years. He began his career in Saudi Arabia working with the Corp of Engineers as an apprentice construction inspector and continued to work in that field in the U.S. in San Antonio and numerous cities in northern California.
His last employment was as a senior inspector for a firm in Elk Grove but he spent much time in southern California near China Lake. Rich loved the outdoors and would camp and fish in the Sierras every chance he got. He was an expert in firearms and trained his two sons and even his daughters to shoot. He loved to talk about his travels to foreign lands and especially about the Red Sea where he and brother Mike would scuba dive and fish with their Korean friends and the Corp of Engineer folks.
We have a lifetime of memories and will forever remember the good times with him.
